As I sat next to my grandmother, on the back steps of my Grandparents home, pencil in hand, notepad on my lap, six years old, I asked, "What will I draw"? "Draw what you see", she replied.

This is my earliest recollection of an attempt to portray a subject artistically. It was essentially, also, my first, and probably most poignant art life lesson...learn to see.

Though I didn't realize it at the time, my grandmother had given me a gift, an insight, and the tools to recognize the raw beauty of nature that we so often take for granted.

As for my passion and interest in photography, well, I kind of fell into that. What started out as a hobby, and a way to record myself, and my partners travels throughout Australia, became an amazing journey of self-discovery. I would learn through trial and error, the skills, and technique to photograph, and capture the beauty of my natural surroundings, and the joy of sharing my experiences with others.

I enjoy the challenge of capturing what I see through the viewfinder, and recording the beauty in nature. My hope through photography is to raise everyone's awareness of, and to reinforce the need to protect our environment.

To do this I don't believe you need the best camera on the market. We simply need to learn to use what we have, to the best of our ability, and have a willingness to truly see what is around us.

I always travel with my camera close by. It is...how I record what I see.

Please enjoy my work.
